Garza Foundation
Manuel Garza was imprisoned for almost 13 years on the infamous Texas death row and was murdered by the state on April 15th, 2015. He was convicted of a crime that was an accident, involving a police officer. On February 2nd 2001, after resisting arrest, Manuel was pursued and beaten. Being on the ground a gun was produced against him, he took it away from the officer, because he feared for his life. He tried to get up and run, but the officer got on his back and got into a struggle with him, choking him and pulling at his arms and hands to get the gun back. The struggle, the pulling and grabbing at the gun, caused the shot to be fired and the officer was mortally wounded with his own weapon. Manuel was unarmed. Two days later Manuel was arrested in connection to this incident, he provided a statement admitting his involvement, but affirming he acted in self defense. His statement was used against him in court, state attorneys portraying his actions as intentional. Although there was evidence that indicated it was not, like the officer having gun residue on his hands. Manuel was charged with Capital Murder and sentenced to death. This case should not have been a capital murder case, but a self defense case.
Thank you for checking out FREEMFG.com. This site is to ensure that there is more action taken in pursuit of my release off death row and to make a stand for the kids who need a guiding voice, someone who cares that they see the light and follow the narrow path in life. It seems like kids are committing crimes younger and younger and I know that with guideance and schooling we can get a hold of there "rebellion" and transfrom them in a success. When I was a teen, no dad, or father figure I took to the streets and thuggery. I think it took 12-15 offenses in the Juvenile courts befor I was sent away to T.Y.C. Where were all the support programs, mentors etc. that are suppose to intervene with a troubled youth? Maybe they only include the wealthy to their help, I don't know. But you would think that the families on welfare would benefit from these sorts of programs first? No? So the goal is to make sure that any and every first offender hears from me, you and whoever else cares to make a change in a kids life. They know better, but they really only know it's wrong, not the wrong there doing to their self, families and future. Thank you for your time and help in my struggle. Think positive and positive will come to you.
Sincerely, Manuel Fernando Garza.
